Lately, I've had a lot on my mind. Maybe, it's the fact that I'm pregnant again! Yes, we're 2 months pregnant! We've been trying for a few months, but didn't expect it to happen as fast as it did after we moved! Being pregnant sure does bring a lot of extra stress. I've been extremely tired and am awaiting the 2nd trimester to start! I didn't start working until Landon was 6 months old so that's another added stress! We've been getting a lot of work done to the house and my only hope is that everything is pretty much done by the time the baby is here. We are about 90% done with the bathroom (waiting for a vanity and cabient, new doors and trim). We also just finished adding in a backdoor to our bedroom. Paul and a friend of his are currently placing a new tiolet in Monie's bathroom. Some other things I'd like to add to our list:

1) Blinds in our room
2) Closet redo
3) Deck outside our door. Paul also wants to do this so hopefully it will happen fast!

I wish my list was only this small! I'm worried what our finanical situtation will look like 7 months from now! We've hardly done any saving and are in dire need of a new vehicle. I also need a new phone! I've had about enough of mine! I had wanted all of our Christmas shopping to be done by Black Friday, but it's not! I'm close but there's always hope for next year.

I'm going to try a few "green" ideas this time around with the baby. I want to make my own baby wipes and try and use cloth diapers. I have a feeling I will still use disposable diapers while out and about, but it will still be a money saver since I won't be using them all the time! I would like to try and start our own family traditions next year and I'll have to see where it will take us. I say this because this will be the first year in my entire 22 years of existence where I've never had a Thanksgiving. No turkey, no stuffing, sweet potatoes, no nothing! Next year this won't be. Nobody is having Thanksgiving here in FL and since we can't be in SC we won't be having one.

I've actually been "cooking"!

Yes, I've found some pretty good recipes that I've tried out over the past few weeks. OK, so it's only 2, but I think I'm getting better in the kitchen! They were very easy so that helped a lot. I don't like long complicated recipes, that's what turns me off of the kitchen. Anyways, I got this first course from the Kraft Food and Family Fall 2008 magazine.

Mini Meatloaves!

I don't have the recipe typed on the computer so I'll have to try and add it tomorrow! It was VERY simple though! I made it about a week or 2 ago.
I made this tonight:
Puppy Chow
I have to say that I got this recipe from someone's blog but I cannot remember as to who! I'm very sorry, but I thank them for posting it, THIS ROCKS!

Puppy Chow aka Puggy Chow
Makes many servings
9 cups Chex cereal (any variety)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

2. In 1-quart microwavable bowl, stir together chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter. Microwave uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.
3. Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

Halloween 2008 pictures

Just thought I'd share a couple of Halloween pictures from Friday night! We just went to our churches Trunk of Treats! We did this last year and I find it to be the safest way to trick or treat!

Just a thought

I thought I'd be getting internet this Monday but it is next Monday that I'll be getting it! That stinks!! But, I thought it'd be nice of me to go ahead and post something new. This is 1 of my frugal tips I use in our kitchen.

I bought this jug of Vanilla yogurt at Save A Lot and just spooned it into these little Gladware containers. Since I work 6-8 hour shifts here and there I like to take my lunch; of course, it isn't just for work lunches but for at home lunches as well! It's cheaper to use these small containers instead of the prepackaged yogurt. The containers come 6 in a pack or 8? I'm not at home or else I would run and check! You can even add freshly chopped fruit if you don't like plain 'ol vanilla! Hope this works for some of you out there!

A QUICK update

So, as you could tell by the lack of posts, things have been pretty busy around this household. I thought a quick update was due. We moved back into grandma's house (Monie as we call her). We believe she's having early signs of Alzheimer's. She's 84 so we know it's a big possibility. We're all praying that if she does have it we are able to catch it early enough to where we can treat it. I think moving back was a good thing for all of us all the way around.

I'm using the MIL's computer and it's slower than molasses. Therefore, I've not posted any pictures. I want to post all my freebies I've recieved! I'm still waiting on some more but with no internet it's hard to check all the new available one's!

We have a few plans that we have set aside like putting in a door in our bedroom and building a porch later on. We also need to finish our "frog" bathroom. I'm very anxious on finishing the bathroom, I know I couldn't live without that room!

As for our little family, we're all doing great. Work is keeping both Paul and myself busy and Landon is learning a handful of new things each day. I've got tons of pictures to post but it will have to wait a little longer!

Sorry for my ABSENCE!

No I haven't forgotten about my blog! I've been extremely busy, moving out of our house and back in with Paul's grandma. I don't have the internet at the house currently so I'm using my MIL's computer which is S L O W! It stinks! Hopefully I'll be able to post pictures and post my FREEBIES I've recieved soon, in the comfort of my own home!

I wish I would've had a coupon for the deodorant, it seems I've seen a few coupons for Suave deodorant, but it was a last minute item! Anyways, I'm sure I could've done better, but I'm new with this deal seeking!

Chore Chart

During nap time, I made a chore chart for Landon. I made his chart based on his age and knowledge. I made sure to include the things that I know he can do. The chores are simple everyday things, like brushing teeth and cleaning room. I forgot to take a picture of the chart with the stickers we will be using, but they were a pack of stickers I bought at Target awhile back in the $1 section. The stickers are actually what made that light bulb above my head go off. Every time he does something on his chart I'll let him place a sticker on the corresponding day and chore. I have not yet figured out what our "rewards" will be, but I do have many thoughts.

Why I enjoy blogging

So far my journey with blogging has been great. I've really started to enjoy it. A weird thing is, I think it's actually helping me to be better organized! There are some wonderful and helpful blogs/moms/ladies out there, and I'm glad I joined the whole blogging scene. Something I really enjoy seeing are some of the before and after pictures of a once messy place! It's helped me to get motivated and stop being such a procrastinator about my own messiness! I don't think it's really messiness, but organization. I didn't know how to go about being organized, but after reading some of the blogs that are out there, I think I've started getting the gist of it. Here is a before and after set of my computer desk:
BEFORE

AFTER

The drawers now have labels on them: Bills, Office Supplies, and Nic-Nacs. I also have the 2 notebooks there on the desk; 1 for daily lists (shopping lists, important dates, etc.) and the other for Finances. I also have to point out (you can't see much of it) my dry erase calendar! I love that thing! It has a bulletin board and NOTES section, very helpful!

Now here's just a before picture of our linen/bathroom closet. I know, there quite disturbing! I'm ashamed!

And another of my scrapbooking shelf. I'm not sure what to do with the rest of the shelves!

I just couldn't resist putting this picture of Landon up! He just has that look of "Hey! Look at meee!"

The linen closet is almost ready and I haven't even touched the scrapbooking shelves. I ended up having to work Tuesday 4:00pm-11:30pm, then come back in Wednesday 7:00am-2:30pm. Needless to say, I've been POOPED! But I love it thus far. Some of me finds it strange to be trying to clean up and get organized when we will be moving by the end of this month. We've decided to go back to Paul's grandmothers (Monie) house to help her out with the house and save for buying a house. I'm not sure how I really feel about it yet. I'm excited to save money, but not excited about not having the same privacy. I know God has a plan, he always does, and actually, Monie is the one who opened my eyes and see God.

Florida Floods

Today we decided to take a drive down to Sanford and check out the flood. It's been a couple weeks since Hurricane Faye has been here and the water is still up on the roads. Some roads were closed, so we had to park and walk around. It smelt bad because of the sewage that was swirling around. There was all kinds of marine life dead in the road. Sorry for having so many!

I miss you

September 18th is approaching fast. It will mark the 1 year anniversary since my pop pop left us. It's been more difficult now then it was when he left. My grandparents raised me therefore he was more like my dad. I will probably blog more about him when the time is right.

Pop-pop and Grandmom

Pop-pop as I remember him most.

Always holding the little ones

My Aunt Pam who passed away December 2007, 3 months after Pop left.

Child Locators

I know I know, I just posted a blog, but I had to do a separate blog for this! I watched the new Duracell commerical where the lady and her son are at the park and he runs off. She starts to panic but pulls out some type of device allowing her to "track" her son down. So, being the noisy person I am I had to do some research in order to find out what that was she was using!

The Brickhouse Locator! This device is probably one of the best things ever invented for any parent! For a price of $189.95 it can be yours! That's one heck of a price considering our children are PRICELESS! Therefore, I am purchasing this product and will let everyone know much I love/hate it! So far I'm in love. They also have a cute little bear locator for $39.95, haven't read much about it but should!

http://www.brickhouse-childsafety.com/

I was just reminiscing on the past 2 years and how fast they've gone by. All that rambling that my parents use to go on and on about is becoming a reality. Kids really DO grow up, and FAST! This was my little man at 7 months

And this is him now:

This makes me sad! =( He's growing so fast, too fast at that.

The Learning Channel (TLC)

TLC is one of my favorite channels on TV. When you're flipping through the guide and something just catches your eye, like, "Half Man, Half Tree" you know you're going to want to flip to it and see what the hell it's all about! Well, today, and actually a time before this, I watched the show, "Wild Child/Feral Children" it was fantastic. It's saddening to see how people could do this to each other, let alone their own children. But, it is also a great way to get people to realize that there ARE incidents all over the world just like these. It's amazing, absolutely amazing. It's stories like these that make you realize how insensitive people can really be. How horrible the human race can actually be.

I can't embed the link I wanted to, but here is a link from YouTube about a girl named Genie. She was completely isolated as a child and finally found at age 13. Her mother kept her in a secluded room with no human interaction. You'll see how see walks, which is an affect from being strapped to a potty chair or locked in her crib for 13 years. Unbelievable.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICUZN462qMw

Another link is one of Oxana Malaya. A girl who was raised by dogs after her mother kicked her out because she wasn't a boy. She lived with the families dogs. Therefore, acts out EXACTLY like a dog. It gives me chills everytime I see this video. It's quite intriguing to see how a human can learn that from a dog, but a dog cannot learn human like insticts.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyqbnDjId7g

I have also been quite drawn to the violence and outrage in countries like Sudan and Darfur. I'm VERY interested in learning more about these crisis' and how I may be able to help. I would like to, in the future and if possible, travel to a country that is in need of help and make a change in someones life.
This next video is a documentary on the children in Sudan. These guys did a terrific job on it and I give them many kudos.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qds5MQCqWnk

I hope that people reading this blog will get a better understanding on life itself, how there ARE in fact people out there who have it 100 times worse then they.

Staying organized is a problem for me!

Yes, that's right. It's practically IMPOSSIBLE for me to stay organized to a degree where I'm satisfied. I see so many moms out there with 2, 3, maybe even 4 or 5 kids and they make it look so easy! The past 2 months I've been pulling my hair because we've been strapped with money. I've not even paid this month's rent! Luckily, my landlord has been taking it easy, I've never been late a payment so that helps. I won't even start work at KOHLS until a couple weeks. I'll find out more Tuesday at orientation.

I have so much going through my mind all day and it's hard to not get a headache from thinking too much. I want to have so much but forget that it won't just take over night, I have to work for it. I feel the only way I can stay organized is to figure out what I want. I recently downloaded mommybar and it seems to be helping. I've also found numerous websites/blogs from other moms with very helpful tips, advice, recipes, etc.

After Tuesday's orientation at work is over, I'll have more of a foundation for what I am able to do to move forward with my life. I plan on staying at KOHLS for awhile, so hopefully everyone will be nice! I hate switching jobs, so I'm sure I'll do my best with staying. I don't know what my rate of pay will be, but hopefully with 2 years prior work experience it will be decent.

I'm having a hard time deciding whether I want to break my lease here or not. If my landlord can agree to lowering my rent from $725 to $650 that would make my decision of staying easier. I just know I won't be able to afford $725 every month right now. I'm still so young and I want to focus on saving money for my family's future. I will cut anything out that I don't need right now to do so. All of this is with the realization that the entire world is hurting economically, so it's not just me going through a rough time.

I am very excited to start work again though. I love the thought of a steady income! It's great! Not having a car payment every month is another great thing. Really helps save money! Anyways, I'm not believing it's already 12:07AM and I'm still awake, so I'm off to bed!

I am now employed!

Yes, that's right! I'm finally employed! KOHL's has built 2 new stores in my county, and I got a position at the one closer to us. I can't wait to start. Everyone seemed so nice and I like the fact that it's a BRAND NEW store! I may not be able to go back to school this semester, which if not, I'm not going to worry about it. I can reapply for the Spring term and that will give me time to get some work in. I go next Tuesday for orientation. Bad news is, I don't know how much the pay is! And they don't open the doors until October! ALDI's has called back for a 2nd interview. It's this Sunday and I think I'm going to go just in case. I will be sure to let everyone know what happens!

Animal Planet came!

A family friend of Paul's came up this past Tuesday from down south (about 4 hours away), James Billie. He owned Billie Swamp Safari a few years back when he was chief of the indian reservation. He was the man who started all the casino's. He use to be Paul's dad's boss and they wrestled alligator's together. Well, they have a video tape of a time when James Billie's got his finger bit off by an alligator! I've seen it once before on one of those Most Extreme Videos or something. Anyways....Animal Planet came out to do an interview on them!! SOO Paul's dad is going to be on TV! Now, the whole point of this was:::

Paul got his Chiki Hut building business underway. James Billie is the one helping him out. I've heard all this talk about this guy James Billie and I finally met him! He was the man paying Paul $18-$20/hr when he was like 15-16 years old running equipment! Now, mind you, this was all when Paul lived down south with his dad at the safari. This guy was chief for 20 years and each year made $1,000,000! Do you realize how much that is! I even heard him say, from his own mouth, his chiki hut business just made him over $600,000 last year! And he is coming up this week to help Paul get everything underway. Paul and I have sat down and talked about it and we realize that all this arguing we do is because we're broke. We use to have money and didn't have to worry about bills being late. With the economy being like it is employment is becoming so hard, and Paul did go out for a while trying to find a job, but every where that deals with people driving heavy equipment are the one's who are laying off 100's of their employees! And personally, I love to work. It gets me out of the house and God knows I can't stand being locked in the house! I am just going to continue to pray to God that everything goes on the right track. I pray that my landlord works with us on rent, I pray that we will get all our bills paid, I pray that my little family will stay safe through all of this.

This past weekend

Friday I had an interview with ALDI'S. It's a grocery store kind of like Save A Lot, my old job. I hope it went OK. I do know one thing though, I was wearing a dress and facing the man and noticed him looking at my legs. I immediately remember how hairy my legs were! OOO was it embrassing!

We also went to The Father's House to the Phat & Heavy Rock Show. It was Paul, Landon, Myself, and we also brought Paul's neice and nephew, Bobby and Tori. We left early to go eat at Ramshackles.

Saturday, Landon and I went to Tristen's birthday party. Kate really did a great job! She always throws the best parties! We were there for about 3 1/2 hours.

Paul's friend John, his girlfriend, and their son are here for a little while. Hopefully it will turn out good. I think it will help us out with bills. I've never had roommates before so I just hope I won't be too picky. They are all real nice so that's a plus. I'm not sure what we're doing today, it's only 11:30 AM. I know I have to go grocery shopping though, and boy I hate doing that!

Introduction

Hello to all! I am quite new to this whole "blogging" scene, so you will have to bare with me at first. I've noticed a few people who do this and I think it's great! It's an excellent way to let family and friends know how you and your family are doing.
My name is Tiffany and I was born September 6, 1986. I have 1 son, Virgil Landon, who was born May 24, 2006. He's what I live for every day and he makes my life complete.

We have 1 dog, Rufus, he's a rat terrier. We had 2 cats, Phylis (laying down) and Murphy (sitting up), but Phylis recently ran away. We miss her a lot and Murhpy is lonely. Rufus likes to play with Murphy though so it's not so bad for her.
My place of work closed down the 1st of July this year so I have been out of a job for a little over 1 month. It's been hectic and something I didn't expect, but we've dealt with it the best we know how. Luckily my landlord has been very leant with me. The worse part about all of this is that I must have put in over 10 applications all over. Finally, I heard back from 2 places, Aldi's and Kohl's. I am now stuck between which one to go with. They are both being built, finishing up really, so it will be another month before they open. I like that though. I've decided to go back to school AGAIN this month. I will be going for business management. The reasoning for this is because I just opened my own ice cream catering business! Yes, that's right, I'm the proud new owner of Lickity Split Ice Cream Catering! I'm very excited! I am still in the beginning stages however. I have yet to get any customers, but I'm willing and able to wait patiently. I will post a blog on that!
